Don’t let a little bit of rain spoil your holiday!
Here are some of our favourite things to see and do when the weather is less than ideal.
An indoor play centre with great coffee is the saviour of all parents on rainy days! With play areas for babies, toddlers, and bigger kids it’s the perfect place to enjoy a break while the kids burn off all of that energy on the super fun kid's zone. Mandalay insider tip – try the raw treats, they are delicious!
Visit the heritage-listed Courthouse, one of Busselton’s oldest buildings and view locally crafted art, jewelry, pottery, glasswork, photography, and more. Walk through the buildings on a heritage tour and explore the historical gaol cells and stables (now working artists’ studios). Mandalay insider tip – finish your visit at The Lookup Coffee House for delicious homemade treats
Puzzle lovers rejoice! The large indoor café is filled with puzzles for you to enjoy – you can test yourself or challenge your family while enjoying your morning coffee, or stay a little longer and have a delicious lunch. If the weather fines up you can get lost in the ever-changing and super challenging maze, enjoy getting back to nature on the log maze and nature playground or have a bounce on the bouncy castle. Mandalay insider tip - don’t forget to pack a raincoat and wear comfy shoes, just in case you are lost in the maze for a while.
Explore the ancient wonders of Ngilgi Cave, the closest caving adventure to Mandalay. Venture 36 meters underground on a semi-guided tour and learn about Ngilgi’s history, Aboriginal legends, and see amazing crystal formations. Perfect for families, there is time to explore at your own pace while still having access to guides along the way to answer any of those curly cave questions. Mandalay insider tip – the kids will go crazy in the crawl tunnel!
Margaret River's newest attraction! Be prepared to have your mind blown by a collection of weird and puzzling eccentricity… From the Gravity defying room to the wackiest toilets you’ll ever see you can spend hours enjoying all of the different rooms and illusions. Stick around to enjoy the outdoor playground and the Margaret River Nuts & Cereals Gift Shop & Café – nuts, cereals, biscuits, honey, preserves, coffee, cake and ice cream
Explore your creative side at the whimsical Quill Collective. Enjoy a delicious morning tea, peruse the local art, craft and pottery or even let your own creativity flow by creating your own handmade treasure on site. For kids, there are pre-stocked craft trays available for purchase, complete with all the materials they’ll need for their own masterpiece.
