The Wings for Life World Run Busselton will begin at 6pm on Sunday the 4th of May from Barnard Park. Run for as long as you can, or until you get caught by the “Catcher Car”!
An event like no other, the Wings for Life World Run Busselton will begin at 6pm on Sunday the 4th of May 2014. The runners will set off from Barnard Park and race along the beachfront, through the streets of Busselton, out onto Bussell Highway then along Caves Road to Dunsborough and Yallingup before turning south towards Margaret River. The track is set for runners to race for up to 100 kilometres which would take them to the heart of Boranup Forest.
Race organisers around the world will synchronise the race start time so each runner will begin the race at the same moment, be they in Busselton or Bratislava.
Participants are encouraged to run as far as they can, or until they are overtaken by the “Catcher Car”. To make it even more difficult, the “Catcher Car” will pick up speed as the race goes on. How’s that for a bit of extra pressure! When you get overtaken it’s time to catch the shuttle bus back to the starting area at Barnard Park to celebrate.
All funds raised will go directly to the Wings for Life Foundation whose mission it is to find a cure for spinal cord injuries.
If you want to run for those who can’t, sign up to participate in the Wings for Life World Run, Busselton.
