We’ve seen them on the television adverts, but now you have the chance to see them in action! The Ironmen and Ironwomen of the country are coming to Smith’s Beach to compete in Round 1 and 2 of the Kellogg’s Nutri-Grain Ironman and Ironwoman series.
Saturday will see the Ironmen completing four continuous loops of the Swim, Board, Ski and Run course, while the Ironwomen will complete three loops. The races are expected to last from 40 to 50 minutes.
The elimination round will be on Sunday with a series of one loop races, eliminating 6 competitors in round one, 5 competitors in round two and leaving five Ironmen and Ironwomen standing at the end of round three.
This is the first time an Ironman and Ironwoman series has been held in Western Australia since 2009 and Smith’s Beach should be the perfect spot to test the strength and endurance of the top class athletes.
