The foreshore is filled with crazy rides and screaming children, the paths are covered with sideshows and the bands are officially in battle… The 50th Festival of Busselton is among us!
The Festival of Busselton is all about celebrating the beautiful place we live and the local charities that do great work in our community. In 2014, the 50th year of the Festival, it is going to be bigger and better!
The Festival takes place all over Busselton, with events and activities from the 1st of January, all the way through to the end of the month. From water slides, to art exhibitions, treasure hunts, Pantomime, markets and movies, there is fun to be had for all ages!
One of the most anticipated events is the Festival of Busselton Fireworks Spectacular. There will be food stalls running throughout the night, and Aussie rock band ‘Metal As Anything’ hope to get everyone up and dancing. Entry is free, so bring down a picnic rug (and a jacket or two!) and watch the show from the foreshore or from the grassed concert area from 6.30pm on Saturday the 18th of January.
This year, Busselton is lucky enough to be hosting the Oz Rock concert starring Jimmy Barnes, Ian Moss, Adam Brand, Daryl Braithwaite, James Reyne and local acts. Be sure to get your tickets from Ticketmaster so you don’t miss out on this awesome night on Saturday the 25th of January.
Other popular events include the Battle of the Bands, Deck Chair Cinema, Jetty Markets and much, much more!
If you wish to find out more about the Festival of Busselton, you can pick up a free program from Mandalay or any other popular spots around town, or visit the website.
