Happy New Year for 2011

After a festive Christmas, the guests at Mandalay experienced a night of dancing, games and fun at our annual New Years Eve party. Four hundred of our guests set up their tables and chairs on the oval overlooking our games rooms, decked out with coloured lights, streamers and balloons. They enjoyed music by DJ Pete, who kept them all entertained with his games and prizes.

The annual egg toss was a roaring success with over four dozen eggs being hurled over the strings of coloured lights outside the games room.  Some classic catches were taken from both the big and the small, with many eggs only just making it to the ground without so much as a crack.  Unfortunately with such an event, someone will be left with egg on their face, with a few shattered spectators receiving an unexpected splatter or two.  Perhaps the yolks on them.  What a crack up!

 

The night ended with a roaring rendition of “Auld Lang Syne”, poppers going off in every direction and joyous cries of “Happy New Year”.

 

Sadly now it is time to take down our Christmas decorations for another year.  Clive and Scott spent the afternoon on the roof removing our Santa’s sleigh and his reindeer, and all of the lights that really make it shine.  Remember that the festive season is a busy time at Mandalay so get in early and enquire about our waitlist for the 2011/12 holidays.
